Anyone who’s ever waited for a bus knows it can be dead tedious. Wouldn’t it be great if there was a fun way to pass the time? Creme Egg ‘Splat Me’ is a quick, intuitive game that let’s people smash Creme Eggs on a large, touch activated billboard while they wait for their ride. My role was in the design look and feel, and gameplay.
The game works on a similar principal to the carnival standard, ‘Whack-A-Mole’. Creme Eggs shoot into the air. The user has 20seconds to splat as many as they can by touching the eggs onscreen as they fly by. The eggs will fly to variable heights atvariable speeds. When the user splats an egg, it explodes, spraying goo all over theback of the billboard. As the timer rolls towards zero the game becomes frantic, with more and more eggs launching themselves intothe fray. When the timer hits zero a large Creme is launched into theforeground. It explodes automatically, splattering the whole screenwith goo. At the end of the game, the player’s score will be added to the billboard, which displays the last three scores along with the time the score was recorded.
